Confidentiality & Privacy:

Successful therapy requires your willingness to share personal, intimate and highly sensitive information with your therapist. Please know your information will not be disclosed to anyone without your written consent.

Exceptions:

  • In cases of child abuse, abuse of a dependent adult or other individual, Levine Counseling is required by law to report the behavior to appropriate authorities.
  • If there is a threat of serious bodily harm to another person, Levine Counseling must notify the police and inform the intended victim.
  • If someone being treated by Levine Counseling has a plan to commit suicide or engage in life-threatening harm to themselves and refuses to cooperate with efforts to insure their safety, we are required by law to report that intent.

Emergencies:

Levine Counseling is dedicated to providing the highest level of care possible. Once you have established a therapeutic relationship with Levine Counseling, if you call requesting emergency care, we will determine the most appropriate level of response; phone session, house call or hospital visit, and provide it as soon as possible.

Cancellation Policy:

Successful therapy requires genuine commitment. Your session begins and ends as scheduled so please arrive on time. Please schedule other appointments and activities at times that do not conflict with your therapy.

If on a rare occasion you must cancel a scheduled session, we require you contact us by phone and speak to us (please do not use email or texting) at least 48 hours in advance.

If possible we will reschedule your current session to another time during the same week. Unless we speak at least 48 hours in advance about the need to change a scheduled appointment you will be responsible to pay the fee for that missed session. If your work includes some out of town travel and you will be away during a scheduled appointment, we can conduct your session either by phone or Zoom.
